Resin craft became a huge trend worldwide in the recent past. As satisfying resin art videos started blowing up on Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, and pretty much all social media platforms available, numerous small businesses were born to supply the huge demand created. In this post, I'll be showing you what kind of resin craft ideas are trending in 2021 so that you too can get a hold of them, or produce them yourself!
Handling resin might seem a bit overwhelming at first since you will be dealing with harsh sounding chemicals. Let's be honest, Epoxy does sound like something potent enough to dissolve your fingers. But once you start using it, you'll realize it's not that much of a complex thing.
I'm a Beginner. What Kind of Resin Should I Use?
There are loads of different kinds of resins available for various purposes like Polyester, Polyurethane, Epoxy, Silicone, and more. Out of all resins, Epoxy is the most recommended for crafts. Some of the reasons for this are:
Longer pot time Epoxy resin takes a while to cure (approximately around 20-40 minutes) so even if you aren't used to working with resin, you have enough time to mess around, second guess, and get things done before it hardens.
Non-toxic Epoxy resin is known to be generally nontoxic so you don't have to wear a respirator mask unlike with when handling other types of resins. And neither does it give off an unbearably pungent smell.
Fewer curing issues Out of all resins, Epoxy is the easiest to work with since it has the least curing issues. It isn't too sensitive to environmental factors like humidity and any surface bubbles that occur can be easily wiped out.
Here's a resin art kit that contains both the resin and hardener, plus 2 x 3.38 ounce measuring cups with spouts, 5 x wooden sticks for mixing and a plastic spreader as bonus tools:
Apart from that you can also try out the following resin kits:
If you want to add some color to your resin crafts you can get the following epoxy resin dye:
Now that you have a general idea about resin, without further chatter, let's move on to the list of the most trendy epoxy resin craft ideas in 2021.
1. Pendants
Resin jewellery making is a really fun process. And amongst all kinds of accessories, pendants have become extremely popular. They are made using molds of assorted shapes with glitters, dyes, broken ceramics, flowers and other kinds of things mixed in. I think they look really cool and magical, and while wearing one of these you could easily imagine yourself to be in a fantasy novel. A goddess, a witch, a faerie, the choice is yours!
You can use the following mold set to make your resin pendants and it's really convenient as they come with hanging holes as well:

8. Pen holders
DIY pen holders are as much fun to use as they are to make. Over the years, I myself have made tons of different pen holders using scrap like cotton bud containers, bottles, jam jars, paper pulp, shoe boxes, and more. But resin paper holders are by far the most pleasant looking of the lot.

10. Ornaments
Don't we all just love hanging stuff around? I don't simply mean Christmas ornaments, rather, I'm writing about things like wind chimes that give a soothing tinkle with the breeze. Unfortunately, they remind me of impending doom since, for some bizarre reason, horror movies like to show wind chimes right before scaring the bejesus out of you. They have pretty much ruined everything for me, to be honest. Not that I don't love watching them. Anyways, what I wanted to say was that resin wind chimes are a really charming sight to see every morning (just not at night, or when you're home alone, or when it's storming, or...you get the point).
11. Wall hangers
Resin wall hangers are a great addition to living rooms. They can make a space look more elegant and pristine.
Check out this rustic farmhouse style door hanger mold:
12. Bookmarks
I used to love making bookmarks when I was a kid, even though I cannot recall the last time I made any. I don't think I've stopped making them because I'm a grown up now; it's probably more because of the fact that I rarely get my hands on hard copy novels these days. Oh how I would love to sniff the pages of a well-worn book and be taken back in time on a nostalgic ride to my childhood. Those were really the days. Well, maybe that's what I should make of my future as well, don't you think? A spinster woman with a dozen cats in an old bookshop. That does sound very prospective.
Anyhow, here's a set of 10 bookmark molds, 10 tassels, and a pack of dried flowers for an affordable price:
Oh, looks like we are at the end of the list! If you're looking forward to producing resin crafts to sell, or you want to keep up with the trends and make some for yourself, you should certainly try out the resin craft ideas given above.
